2) What is this blog about

This blog is about my own cooking journey .I am not a great cook and I do not also intend to be one of the greatest Chefs of this Country .Primarily I want to  learn cooking  to be self reliant towards cooking my own food and also be able to cook for some of my close family members and friends as an act of love .  I like eating good food of different variety but at the same time I do not want to eat outside except when I travel or except when there are guests in family .I want to primarily try cooking the foods that we get in restaurants at home itself . I consider home cooking to be hygienic , healthy , tasty and also costs less money .  Also when you cook food for people closer to you the satisfaction that you get by seeing their happy face is something that cant be described .
Being a Vegetarian myself I will confine only to Vegetarian food / Vegetarian Cooking in this blog . I will not be dealing with any sort of Non Vegetarian Cooking .
Also since I am myself a beginner with regard to cooking , this blog is more only for sharing the recipes that I have tried myself or that I have eaten outside .I do not have the competence to give advise to others regarding cooking at this stage Might be at a later stage I may be able to advise others . Also this is not a food blog like the regular food blogs where people keep on posting new and new recipes and attracting traffic to their websites and have ads on their blogs etc . There is none of such things here .  This blog is purely to share my opinions about the various foods , the recipes that I have tried and tasted myself , the opinion about some of the food blogs , youtube videos on cooking , the various chefs on TV and Internet  , the various cookbooks , the various kitchen items that I use for cooking and also about the various historical , cultural aspects of some  of the Indian foods and Indian Cooking . Last but not the least I consider cooking to be a great spiritual Sadhana and that aspect will also be dealt here . More later .

1) Cooking for self reliance and as an act of love

I have started a new cooking blog to document my cooking sadhana . I do not consider cooking as just another activity but as a very sacred activity and it brings not only joy to me but also to those for whom I cook and serve . There is a program called ¨Celebrity Cooking " in a Tamil TV Channel called Puthuyugam TV and in that program one popular TV star prepares a dish for his closest friend who also happens to be a popular TV star . I like the concept very much and want to adopt the same concept in a modified way to my own day to day life .I need not be a popular TV star and my friends need not also be popular TV starts but yet I can prepare some nice tasty dishes that are not only tasty but also nutritious and dedicate it some people whom I like and admire . It can start with people closer to me at home like my mother , brother , cousin , departed family members etc etc .
Basically I want to learn and develop my cooking skills not only to be self sufficient with regard to my own day to day eating but also to cook for others .I consider cooking for others to be an act of love and hence I want to refine my own cooking skills that not only helps me fulfill my day to day eating but also helps me to show love to others by cooking for them some tasty dishes . This blog has been started only with that intention .I am not an expert cook but only slowly learning the basics of cooking  by following the youtube videos and various other cooking blogs on the net . I will share some of the recipes that I have tried myself and use this blog to monitor how much I have progressed in my own cooking skills .
